One of my friends, Rick Duda, operator of Experience Cuenca Ecuador, offers walking classes.  He offers several different options but the one I went on was his Coffee Class.

This was truly a two hour coffee break with cupping (coffee tasting), desert tasting and learning about the organic history of coffee in Ecuador? We learned about the history and origins of coffee as well as a lot of fun facts, figures and statistics about Ecuador’s coffee industry.  You’ll learn the differences between arabica vs robusta beans, high vs middle and low altitude varieties and learn the pros and cons about the drying process- bola vs washed and de-pulped. OK, they went over all this but not all of it stuck in my brain.  I just know I enjoyed the coffee.
