Corpus Christi, meaning Body of Christ, is a week long celebration beginning Thursday after Trinity Sunday (the Sunday after Pentecost to honor the Holy Trinity).
It is celebrated with sweets, fireworks and parades. The festival mostly takes place in El Centro, around Parque Calderon. It goes on all day and night. This year we only took in one day, hopefully next year we will experience the night events as well. There are blocks and blocks of booths showing the cornerstone of the celebration, sweets, many of which are only made during Corpus Christi!
I can't wait until next year to indulge in many of the sweets I didn't try this year.
