10/17/10 to 10/19/10 - Black Rock State Park, Clayton, GA
We rented a cabin at Black Rock State Park for two nights so we could enjoy the beautiful fall colors and explore the area. We had to make the reservations in October 2009 as they fill up quickly this time of the year. We arrived in the morning know we wouldn't be able to check in until the afternoon but that gave us time to do some exploring. We took a walk around Black Rock Lake, enjoying the beauty of the reflections of the fall colors as they danced across the lake. There were still lots of flowers along the trail as well. After our walk around the lake we went up to the visitors' center where we fixed a picnic lunch and sat in the sun enjoying the beauty. Even though we were in the sun it was quite cool, even bundled up in my down jacket. After checking into our cabin we went out on the deck to just relax and enjoy. It was sheltered from the wind and with the setting sun shining on the deck it warmed up enough to stay out there. On the 18th we took a hike on the Tennessee Rock Trail. That hike is in another picture gallery.
