Orchard as we enter Hilfrich Park

On the far side of the river from the parking lot at Hilfrich Park used to stand the Thomson's Lodge. Still standing, but not in use, is the Thomson's Swinging Bridge which links us to the history of Helfrich Landing. Built around 1900, its cedar planks creaked and swayed beneath the feet of guests and their luggage as they gingerly crossed to Thomson's Lodge.
